Protecode Incorporated is a privately held company established in 2006. Protecode is headquartered in Ottawa, Canada, with R&D and data operations in Canada. Protecode offers its products and services throughout the world through a network of partners in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

What We Do

Protecode provides products and services for open source licensing management. Protecode offers unique solutions for managing open source licensing in real time as well as during various points in a software quality development lifecycle.Our solutions have been formally validated by IBM.

Protecode products include

• Enterprise Analyzer™ – for bulk analysis of existing code, or code received from outside
• Code Administrator™ – for pre-approval of code by an administrator
• Developer Assistant™ – for real-time analysis of code on developer workstations
• Library Auditor™ – for automated analysis of code that is checked into the library
• Build Analyzer™ – for analysis of the code consumed during a build operation

Protecode services include

• Software Code Audits for one-time assessment of any code portfolio, and
• Portfolio Comparison Services for detecting similarity between two code portfolios.

How Protecode is Different

Protecode is a vertically-integrated solutions company. We focus on policy-driven deep-scanning code analysis, detecting licensing and copyright obligations associated with all or part of software, and managing any violations of software policy. We create a software bill-of-materials, and highlight content that needs attention such as encryption code.

As a result, Protecode analysis engine is fast, efficient and requires minimum infrastructure. It is easy to install, set up and use and is economically suited to the task, minimizing the Total Cost of Ownership during the lifetime of the products.
